Mission: River Axe Trout
(Something fishy in the classroom)

We created this short film for KS1 and KS2 school kids and their teachers as an overview for the Rivers Run Through Us Trout in Schools project, in association with Axe Vale Rivers Association

There’s something fishy happening in the classroom! 🐟 Join us on an epic underwater adventure as we turn ordinary students into River Heroes to help the amazing Brown Trout of the River Axe.

Habitat loss and pollution are making it tough for our scaly friends, but the Rivers Run Through Us Project (RRTU) and the Axe Valley Rivers Association (AVRA) are on a mission to change that—with the help of local kids!

Watch as a top-secret delivery of trout eggs arrives at school. Follow their incredible journey as students learn what makes the perfect riverbed, watch the eggs hatch into superhero Alevins (who eat their own egg sacs!), map out giant food webs, and finally, release the Fry into the wild rushing waters of the River Axe.

🎒 TEACHERS: BECOME A RIVER HERO HEADQUARTERS!

Want to bring this unforgettable, hands-on science experience to your students? We provide the tank, the eggs, and the expert Ranger lessons to help your class learn about ecosystems, lifecycles, and conservation.
